The Science and Technology in Archaeology Research Center
(STARC) devoted to the development, introduction and use of
advanced science and technologies in Archaeology and Cultural
Heritage is seeking a Research Technical Specialist in Natural and
Material Science applications to Archaeology and Cultural Heritage,
who will be in charge of the Stationary Research Laboratory of the
Center.
Work is full time and will be carried out in Nicosia or other
locations in Cyprus.
The position has the following requirements:
- MA/MSc in Analytical Physical Chemistry,
Physics, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
Candidates, who can prove that they have fulfilled all requirements
for their MA/MSc degree, but their award of qualification is still
pending, will also be considered.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Proven ability of health and safety
responsibility of an analytical laboratory facility.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
in English.
- Knowledge of the Greek language will be
considered an advantage.
Preference is given to candidates with ability and ambitions in the
domain of engineering and technical aspects of instrumentation.
This position is of full time engagement with an initial duration
of 36 months and with possibility for renewal. The
anticipated starting date of the job is in December 2011 and the
salary will depend on the experience and qualifications of the
successful candidate.
