Planned work

  • implement instruments to exploit  the most advanced techniques of IR-Scanning Confocal Microscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography, Terahertz Spectroscopy, Fuorescence emission and NMR profiling. The instrument implementations will be interconnected with comparisons of performances among equipments and mutual exchange of technology
  • establish further methodologies and  portable devices for the monitoring of the effect of the environment on the surface of museum objects
  • develop laser cleaning methodologies, successful in many applications on metal and stone monuments, with advancement towards still open issues, such as the cleaning of panel and mural paintings; the innovations in cleaning procedures will take advantage of the specific innovative diagnostic techniques of the CHARISMA activities
