New lights on ancient materials 2010 (27th May – 2nd June 2010)
The training school sustained by COST was organised and held at Synchrotronby SOLEIL IPANEMA was centered on the application of synchrotron techniques to the analysis of cultural heritage samples. It aimed at sharing knowledge between ancient materials specialists and synchrotron scientists on this subject and as such contributes to the information sharing and collecting of WP2 on sample preparation.web9
The school, especially dedicated to young scientists, was characterised by lectures on the most advanced applications of X-ray analytical methodologies using synchrotron facilities and to the discussion of problems related to the preparation of suitable samples.
This edition of the School supported by CHARISMA was focused on the X-ray-based studies of sediments, wood, bone, clays, and ceramics.
