Agenzia per la Promozione della Ricerca Europea (APRE), IT

About
APRE is a non-profit research organization, created in
1989 upon the joint initiative of the Italian Ministry of Research
and the European Commission with the main objective to support the
research activities of the Italian scientific community, as well
the participation to European RTD funding programs.
109 Member organizations – from private and public research
centres, industries, industrial associations, chambers of commerce
science parks, banks and 40 universities.
17 Regional Help Desks ensure a sound presence at national
level.
At European level, APRE has been nominated by the Italian Ministry
of Research as host organization for FP7 National Contact Points
for all the themes and sectors. It has been also appointed as
expert of the Information, Communication Technology Thematic group
in the CIP Programme by the Ministry of Economic Development.
Relevant experience and role
During its 20 years of experience APRE has been involved in several
projects (about 80) co-financed by the European Commission (DG
Research and DG Enterprise), experience which will be brought to
CHARISMA project.
In particular, the role in CHARISMA is two-fold
– management activities: APRE, together with the Coordinator,
is member of the Project Office, providing assistance to the
partners on contractual, financial and other non technical aspects.
Thanks to its strong experience as coordinator (4 projects in
FP6, 11 in FP7 ) and/or head of management office of large size
projects (i.e FP6 Integrated project), as well as wide knowledge of
contractual issues (APRE is the Italian Legal and financial NCP),
the Agency acts as the main help desk for the day-to-day
management.
– dissemination activities: APRE is the leader of the
dissemination and communication activities programs, being
responsible for both the public website implementation and periodic
news and leaflet. Thanks to its participation to the most relevant
networks active on cultural heritage in FP7 (e.g. Environment, ICT,
Science in Society…) and its involved in the Technology Transfer
activities (former Innovation Relay Centre, now Enterprise Europe
Network – Cultural Heritage Sector Group), it ensures the most
powerful communication strategy. A broad experience on events
organization (training courses, workshops, info-days and seminars)
complete its skills.
